My Services (Individual & Group Sessions)

Individual Therapy

If you are considering therapy for the first time, choosing a therapist can be a daunting step. I am available to discuss your needs over the telephone. If you decide to consult me, the process will look something like this:

  1. An initial contact phone call, at no expense to you. Fees and funding will be discussed.

  2. An arranged first assessment, which can be held in-person or on Zoom. This will identify your needs and provide an initial, agreed-upon therapy plan.

  3. Then, five therapy sessions will follow, which is a good test of whether the therapy is useful to you.

  4. In the sixth session a joint evaluation of the whole process will be done.

  5. At this step, you can decide to proceed further. Treatment of long-standing anxiety and depression takes a longer time, where therapy may continue for months and according to each individual client's needs. Change can happen sooner, but many clients decide to consolidate and extend their self-awareness over time.

If you have had therapy experiences, where outcomes have not been helpful, I encourage you to call me. Our discussion about the possible reasons may help you find a new pathway.

Group Therapy

Some people find working in small psychology education groups can be most helpful. I’m trained to empower individuals by providing information and support to promote emotional wellbeing. The groups are designed to give practical coping strategies, and I’ve seen how a proactive approach to depression has been life-changing for many people.

I offer the following groups, which usually include 4-5 participants:

  1. Overcoming Depression – Sessions over six consecutive weeks.

  2. Learning to Be Assertive - A five hour, one-day workshop

Please contact me if you’re interested, even if you are unsure of joining a group, we can discuss your concerns. After a telephone assessment to screen if the group is right for you, you can decide to join a waiting list. The groups are run quarterly, throughout the year.
